Pilates Janica® method: ”Adore your core”

Janica is a lovely instructor. You can always ask for advice in class and outside of it. She takes in consideration different fitness and knowledge levels of her clients. Her versatility shows in the class. She is always happy and has a great sense of humour.

I've been to other instructors' Pilates classes, but nowadays I only attend Janica's classes because of her professionalism and amazing character. I have learned to love Pilates and I have moved away from being a couch potato. Thank you Janica.

Creator of this physical fitness system was Joseph Pilates. He called it contrology.

This class is great for anybody.

  • It can be used if you are recovering from surgery.
  • It can help you find the pelvic floor muscles after child birth.
  • It can ease back pain and get the deep muscle tissue active again.
  • No matter if you are fit or unfit, young or older you will fall in love with this class.

Following the 6 principles the class is a great full body workout.

Concentration
Give your mind a chance to really concentrate on the exercise.

Centering
Every exercise starts from the center of the body, which is located in the pelvic area, just below the navel (deep tissue muscles). The center supports your whole spine/major organs, improves alignment and posture and of course strengthens the back.

Control
Be in control of your body enable to execute the movement.

Breathing
Inhale is through the nose and exhale through the mouth. Using the three dimensional breathing will let you use the full capacity of the lungs with every breath you take. Full breathing also assists in removing non-beneficial chemicals that may be stored in the muscles (Joseph Pilates).

Precision
Understand that every movement has a certain purpose and every correction done to the body will make the exercise more successful.

Flow
An exercise should have a specific place where it begins and ends a so called flow. Smoothness and evenly flowing movement go hand in hand, assisting the transitions between movements.
